Cookie Notifications
Some countries, particularly those in the EU, require websites to notify visitors that they use cookies. This ensures your site is compliant with local law and can be polite to security-minded visitor
To comply with privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA, Sitekick AI includes a built-in cookie notification banner. This helps inform visitors about cookie usage and gives them the option to consent.
You don’t need to install anything, it’s already set up for you.
Just follow these steps to complete the setup:
Step 1: Open "Cookies Setup"
Log in to your Sitekick AI Site Editor Dashboard
Go to the "Privacy" tab in the sidebar
Click “Start Wizard”
Step 2: Follow the guided setup
The setup guide will ask questions like:
What region(s) your site serves (e.g. EU, US)
Whether your site uses tracking scripts or embedded media (e.g. YouTube, Facebook)
Whether you have a Privacy Policy (you can link or create one)
When you're done, a cookie banner will be added automatically and shown to visitors only when required by law.
⚠️ Important Notes on Cookies & Tracking
Turning off tracking cookies in your "Cookies Setup" settings will stop:
Site analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, platform tracking)
Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn, or other third-party tracking
Personalization or A/B testing features that rely on cookies
Third-party widgets (like Facebook or Twitter embeds) may still load cookies, even if you disable internal tracking. These are required for the widgets to function properly.
Always check your country’s legal requirements on cookie notifications, consent type, and privacy disclosures. The "Cookies Setup" can help with region-based compliance.
đź’ˇ TIP: You can customize your banner under "Cookies Setup" > Cookie Banner to match your site's style and tone.
Warning
Disabling tracking cookies will stop stats collection for your site, as well as any tracking code you have added (for example, Facebook tracking pixels).
Note
Check the legal requirements in the country of your target audience regarding cookie notifications, the form of the notification, and relevant links to add to the text of the notification.
